Hello, thar! New person here, wanted to say hi and such.

Have been stalking this forum for a bit, wondering to myself what exactly primal/paleo was ever since my doctor told me not to go on any of those fad diets after being screened as a high-risk for diabetes (my grandparents both had it D. I found it funny that he would tell me such a thing, so I asked him what diets. He mentioned Primal/Paleo, Low-Carb, Atkins (same thing?), and high sugary diets like those of Ray Peat. Needless to say, I couldn't resist reading up on these "fad" diets, just to get some scope of what my doctor was trying to warn me about.

I really like eating meat and really like eating vegetables, so it seemed only natural to gravitate towards paleo (don't we all anyway?). After reading what marvelous results everyone has had here, I can't wait to see how everything pans out and, of course, the look on my doctor's face. :P

Can anyone offer any general advice for the reformed caveman? ^_^

Atkin's does not take into account food quality - so steer clear of their recommendations.
