    I have gone Primal in the past and lost weight and, more importantly, seen huge improvements in my health. Now that I am nine months since leaving my abusive husband of 17 years I am going to start again.

    So, as of this morning I am 285.3 lbs. Not my heaviest!

    I have inflammatory arthritis symptoms. I currently have a fairly bad pain in my right heel and some lower back pain, which is a new symptoms for me. I also have watery eyes and lots of floaters (I wonder if they will improve?). My skin is itchy and right now I have rather a lots of spots. Not good, although I have been in worse states.

    My goal is to start to regain my health, lose 120 lbs and be able to go on 6 or 7 mile walks.

    Big goals, so I need some smaller ones! First mini-goal: get to under 280 lbs and be able to walk to the 'tree line' again on my favourite walk.

    Congratulations on your renewed commitment. Yes, you do have some challenges ahead. Obviously, as you know, losing the excess weight must be foremost in order for any other issues to be resolved. I recommend you focus on your protein needs, maintain some, but low, carbohydrate intake and let your body burn it's own fat for fuel, rather than feeding it new dietary fats at this time. Fats within whole food protein sources are fine, but don't make the common mistake of overloading dietary fat while you're trying to burn body fat.

      Thank you for your advice, John. I think I have made the mistake in the past of thinking, 'Fats are good for you. Eat plenty!' Which would be fine, if I didn't have so much to burn of my own!

      And I think when I have done Primal in the past I have had to force myself to eat when I wasn't hungry. Do you think I should listen to my body on that?

        Tuesday 20th September 2016 - Day One

        Food:

        B: scrambled eggs with bacon, black coffee.

        Sparkling water with elderflower cordial (I will cut this out soon. It already feels too sweet.)

        L: spiced pumpkin soup (probably not ideal, but what I had in the fridge).

        Whoops! Ate my son's chips (fries) that were left over from his lunch. Must remember I am not a rubbish bin!

        S: a few slices of pepperoni

        D: steak and salad (with rather a generous amount of mayonnaise), small glass of red wine (just to finish it off!)

        Supplements:

        Fermented CLO, high vitamin butter oil, BCW chlorella. Also homeopathic remedies.

          My opinion is that hormonal reset is so important after we awaken that breakfast should not be skipped, hungry or not. After that, I don't think there's any advantage to eat if we're not hungry. Whether meals are skipped or not, adequate protein needs to be maintained.

                Wednesday 21st September 2016 - Day Two

                Food:

                B: scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and chives, sparkling water

                S: small amount of dried fruit and seeds

                L: spiced pumpkin soup, black coffee

                D: steak and salad, peppermint tea. And I turned down cake at a friend's too. A big thing for me!

                Sleep:

                I didn't sleep at all well last night. The cat (well, six month old kitten) jumped around on me all night. I might have to start shutting him out of the bedroom. Early night for me tonight, I think.

                  Thursday 22nd September 2016 - Day Three

                  Food:

                  B: scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, black coffee

                  L: chicken soup with heaped tablespoon of GL gelatin added, random slice of ham!

                  S: Another slice of ham!

                  D: at my friends' house - chilli and rice and salad, tea, a small glass of wine and coffee

                    Food:

                    B: bacon and scrambled eggs, hot water with lemon and fresh ginger

                    Whoops! The rest of this day didn't go so well.

                    L: chicken soup

                    D: takeaway chicken curry (but without rice, so that was something at least)

                          Monday 27th September 2016 - Day Seven

                          B: bacon and scrambled eggs, black coffee

                          L: ham and halloumi cheese

                          D: steak and salad (plus tiny slice of my son's leftover pizza )

                          But, on the plus size, I did manage to not eat cake when having a coffee with a friend. Plus I just had sparkling water, not coffee.

                            Hi Miss Innocent, I also recently climbed back on the primal wagon - one day behind you actually. And just wanted to say congrats on getting out of an abusive relationship and recommitting to nourishing yourself. And great job resisting that cake!
