Yes, they are very nutritious and cheap with it. Another plus point is that they are relatively low in toxins as they are not a top-feeding fish (cf tuna for example).F 5 ft 3. HW: 196 lbs. I have been eating 1-2 cans a day of either boneless, skinless or bone-in sardines in olive oil. HDL went from 23 to 49 in 6 months!

I tried sardines for the first time 2 months ago and I like them very much. I think they are less fishy tasting then tuna. I havent touched tuna since I started eating them. I think once you get past the look of them...yummmy! The first time I ate them I really did not look at the tin because of the whole mental thing that I am eating a fish with skin and bones. so far my favorite is the ones in olive oil!

Whoa, less fishy tasting than tuna? I bought a can of sardines last week, and it's sitting in the pantry. I want to open it and try them soon! I just haven't got around to it yet.
However, the thought of eating a whole fish, skin bones and all, is appealing, if only because I like to eat funny looking things.

Given that actual labelled EVOO is often adulterated, I am wary of how pure the olive oil is. So - when I buy sardines (which I do often) for each can of sardines in extra virgin olive oil, I buy one in tomato too. I don't know what else is put in the tomato - but I HOPE it is pure!!!! And I love them all.

True. Most olive oil has been mixed with things like soybean oil and such. There's no way in hell that the sardine packing companies are spending the time or money searching out the purest forms of olive oil.
It doesn't even TASTE like olive oil. Sorry kids, if you had it tested, I'm pretty sure it'd come back as mostly bad oils.
*Cough* not that I still don't eat many cans a week*cough*
